What to expect At a Trial
As your big day is quickly approaching, a hair trial is a perfect opportunity to provide an early insight of how you will look & feel on your wedding day. We can create styles similar to what you put on your vision board and see you becoming the bride you have been dreaming about. By this point you will have chosen your beautiful wedding dress and we can create a hairstyle that compliments it perfectly.
If you haven’t already, it’s time to start thinking about how you want your wedding glam to look on your special day, I would advise looking through images of past brides in a similar colour hair to yours so you can vision what it looks like. WHAT IS A TRIAL APPOINTMENT?
A trial is an appointment before your wedding where you and I can meet in person and discuss your wedding in plenty of detail. I enjoy meeting brides at trials so you can get to know me and have confidence on your wedding day that you love your chosen style. During this two hour appointment we can create up to two styles that you like and we will discuss your likes and dislikes and how you like to wear your hair around the front. From this I can recommend hairstyles that I feel will work best taking into consideration your hair type, length and condition and how I will achieve this look. I feel to get the most out of the trial is to try one style and go home with it so you can really try out the hair, however we can try up to two styles if required. If wanting hollywood waves I only provide this one style at the appointment.
My advice is booking a hair trial 8-14 weeks before your wedding date, I hold trial appointments mid-week between the hours of 8.45am-3.30pm in Goole, East Yorkshire.
Need Inspiration?
Take a look at my gallery to see some of the hairstyles I’ve created for inspiration. Also, Pinterest or instagram are a good source for inspiration but it is important to mention here that most of the images you see on social media use clip in hair extensions which I do highly advise for your day. They are excellent for adding volume and holding a curl throughout the day. You may absolutely love an image online but until it’s created on your hair type you will not know if you love it, this is why I would always say yes to a trail appointment.
How do I prepare for my trial?
For your trial appointment, please wash your hair the day before and arrive with clean, blow dried hair- do not leave hair to dry naturally because this will create a layer of frizz over the hair that is smooth once dried with a hairdryer. I advise product free hair unless it is frizz or naturally curly hair products. If bringing hair extensions wash and blow dry these also- even if they are new because they have a residue on them that prevents them from holding a curl as well as if they are freshly washed. If you have any questions about hair prep for your hair type please get in touch. Please come to your appointment wearing a white or neutral top, similar to the neck line of your dress if possible and wearing your makeup similar to how you would like it on the day, this way you can visualise your look.
What do I need to bring?
At the salon I have a variety of hair accessories that you can try before purchasing one, I advise trying styles first before buying an accessory because we want an accessory to perfectly compliment the chosen style rather than creating a hairstyle to suit the accessory. If you already have an accessory bring it with you so we can see how it will look on the day. If you already have your veil, bring it to the appointment so I can see how it attaches and where you are wanting to wear it on the day. However, I can provide a veil at the salon to try in with your style if not. Bring your clip in extensions (washed and dried) and inspiration pictures.
Do my bridesmaids need a trial?
The bridesmaids do not necessarily need a trial however if they are really excited to have a trial or they feel nervous or anxious about having their hair done then they are more than welcome to book a trial with me to see the look before the day. If you and your bridesmaid wanted to make a day of it and come together that is absolutely fine, maximum 1 guest at each appointment due to space and no children at these appointments, I want you to feel relaxed and the attention is completely on you.
