Half up, Half Down Styles
Half up half down- these are one of my most requested styles, half up half down styles are so versatile and can be done in many ways to achieve a desired look. These are a lovely bride or bridesmaid style and are great for those who want to wear their hair down but still want some detail. A plait or twisted detail is usually my go-to. A perfect accessory to compliment this look is something on a pin- as seen in the images.
Hollywood wave StyleS
This is a classic style that I love to create and is a recommended bridal style as it is a longer, more time-consuming style and therefore would recommend another style for bridesmaids. I definitely recommend clip in extensions for this style, not necessarily for thickness but more for longevity of the style as extensions hold a curl better than natural hair. Classic hollywood waves is a side parting with a lifted fringe however these can also be done in many different ways to achieve your desired look. A popular accessory for this look is a headband or a bridal accessory near the ear.
Plaited Styles
These styles have a lot of detail and look beautiful with a hair vine or hair pins, they are lovely plaits that can be created down the centre of your back to show of your lovely dress or alternatively created at the front to flatter your face frame. To make these fuller a couple of extensions makes all the different to enhance the style. Fresh flowers also look lovely in this style to add a boho feel to the style.
Ponytail Styles
Recently, bridal ponytails have become more popular and I love the modern look. There are different ways to create these styles they can be boho, sleek, curly, low or high. Different curling techniques can be used to completely change the look of the style. Low ponytails are a perfect bridesmaid style while a mid-height or high ponytail is more of a statement bridal style. A perfect accessory for a ponytail is pearl pins.
updo Styles
This is my most requested look and can be done in so many different ways, I aim to make everyone’s up-do slightly different so it’s personal to them. I love romantic styles and these can be styled low, mid height or high, its good to think about the placement you would like before your trial. In the images I have highlighted the three different placements of where the bun can sit. A high updo is perfect for those who like to see their hair from the front and like more volume to their hair. Clip in extensions can also be applied to any of these styles without the worry of seeing them, I apply them in a way they cannot be seen and sit comfortably. Veils can be attached either above or below the bun and a perfect accessory for this style is bridal pins.
mother of the bride
Mother of the brides can have any style of their preference, this is usually hair curling, an updo or a blow dry style. The hair is usually shorter and finer, but as long as I have enough hair to work with I can do the desired style, if not a couple of seamless clip in extensions can help with updo’s like seen in the image. On wedding mornings, I ask that if wanting a blow dry this is discussed before booking so I can give advice and the client comes to me with wet hair ready for their blow dry. I create this with a blow dryer, brushes and rollers and take the rollers out nearer to the event time once the hair has cooled and finished with hairspray.
curly hair girls
Curly hair girls can have any style in the style guide, I will just use their natural texture to create the style. I add hydrating products while styling the hair to tame any flyaways and frizz. With permission from the client, I may use a small curling wand to enhance some of the curls that are falling a little bit straighter. I ask that if wanting to wear your natural curls you come to me with hair prepped how you normally wear it and dry ready for styling. If you’re not wanting your natural curls I kindly ask that you sit in the chair with straight hair ready for styling.
